Thanks to everyone who joined since Monday night’s opening, and thanks for your reports. Here’s what we fixed in three days. The launcher installs updates on its own: just restart it.
- Versions
- 7.1.39 → 7.1.42
- Since
- Mon, Oct 26
The big ones
Crafting no longer destroys your items
A conflict with Curios could make whatever you placed in the inventory crafting grid disappear.
The server no longer crashes
A thread leak eventually brought it down. Background world generation no longer pauses in a loop either.
No more wrongful bans
The proxy no longer bans players by mistake, and connection counting holds up when many people join at once.
Connection and launcher
- The Play button now goes through the proxy (7.1.42).
- During maintenance, the title screen no longer shows the server as “incompatible”, and a maintenance notice appears on screen (7.1.40).
- The connection copes better with latency.
Interface
- Tabs you close stay closed (7.1.42).
- The recipe book search clears when you leave a table (7.1.41).
- Switching universe now takes a 3-second hold: no more accidental switches (7.1.40).
- Collection: steps scroll and stay in their column.
- Sodium and Iris options only show up when those mods are installed.
Small displays
These screens now fit the window: My Quests, Progress, the profile, gallery, Codex, shop, gifts, jukebox, night screen and waypoints. Fonts stay sharp at half scales.
Other fixes
- The chat bubble in boats
- Shooting stars
- The teammate display
- Borderless fullscreen
- The display editor
- Shift+drag in the inventory
- Signs
- Bag tabs
Shop and cosmetics
- Remove now takes the hat off your head.
- Shop announcements only show once.
World and map
- The Scribble lectern works again (7.1.42).
- The map loads even when the server is under heavy load.
- Structures are loaded as soon as the server starts.
Smoothness
- Less stutter, shadows tuned to your machine, and a lighter Distant Horizons (7.1.41).
- Particles no longer drop to “minimal”, and Iris no longer reloads mid-game.
