Server Rules

The rules apply in game (every universe: survival, creative, events), in the Athena messenger, on the Feed and profiles, and on the Discord. By connecting to the server or joining the Discord, you accept them: the launcher has you read and accept them before your first game.

A behavior doesn't need a written rule to be sanctioned: anything that deliberately harms other players or the server always is. When in doubt, ask the staff first.

1. Respect

  1. Respect everyone, players and staff alike. Insults, repeated mockery, harassment, threats and discrimination (origin, gender, orientation, religion, disability…) are forbidden.
  2. No divisive topics: no political, religious or sexual talk, in game or on the Discord.
  3. Write to be read: no spam, no flooding, no all-caps messages and no excessive text-speak.
  4. No advertising: other servers, social networks, websites, channels or shops, in a message, a username, a build or a sign. Only the staff may share a link to a partner.
  5. No personal information: never post yours or anyone else's (name, address, photo, phone, school…). This means an immediate ban, without prejudice to legal action.
  6. Private messages follow the same rules as public chat. If someone bothers you, block them and report them.

2. Content suitable for everyone

The server is streamed live on Twitch and welcomes players of all ages. Everything you create must stay family-friendly:

  1. Builds, pixel art, signs, books, item names, maps: nothing sexual, hateful, defamatory, violent or shocking, and no political or religious symbols.
  2. Username, skin, bio, profile banner, Feed photos and captions: the same rules apply. The staff may remove content and ask you to change anything unsuitable.
  3. The photos you post must be your own, taken in game; no screenshot of a private conversation without the consent of the people involved.

3. The pack and cheating

  1. Play only with the Athena launcher and the pack it installs. Modifying the pack or adding a mod, plugin or resource pack without the staff's approval is forbidden. The launcher checks the mods and blocks the launch if one was added or modified; getting around this check is sanctioned as cheating.
  2. The only changes allowed without asking: turning off the launcher's optional mods (Distant Horizons, shaders) and tuning the game (options, Athena Optimization).
  3. All cheating is forbidden: X-ray (mod, resource pack or graphics driver), fly, speed, kill-aura, auto-clicker, macros, minimaps or ore finders other than the pack's, modified clients, item duplication.
  4. A bug or exploit must be reported, without using it or explaining it to others: duplication, getting through a protection, free items or experience… Exploiting a bug is sanctioned as cheating; reporting it honestly never is.
  5. Even as a joke, talking about cheating ("I've got x-ray") is taken seriously.

4. Your account

  1. One account per person. Multiple accounts are forbidden and sanctioned as soon as they are detected.
  2. You are responsible for your account, Minecraft and Discord: whatever is done from your account is attributed to you, even if someone else used it. Don't lend it or share it.
  3. Don't impersonate a staff member, another player or Batsave.

5. Builds, bases and neighbors

  1. No griefing: don't break, steal, change or move anything that isn't yours, even outside a protected zone (in the creative universe, which has no bases, as in the unprotected areas of survival). Theft or destruction: ban for the current season.
  2. Repair your damage: if an explosion (creeper…) or a fire you caused damages someone else's build, you restore it.
  3. Protect your base: claim it and draw your zone (Your base). Locked chests and other players' zones are not to be forced, not even through an exploit.
  4. Leave room: build at a reasonable distance from other players (100 blocks recommended), unless they agree. Don't take land just to stop someone from expanding.
  5. Server zones (spawn, public places) belong to the staff: you can walk around, not build.
  6. A base abandoned for a long time can be freed by the staff, after a warning.
  7. Keep the world clean: replant the trees you cut near busy places, don't leave dirt towers or gaping holes around spawn, villages and other players' bases.
  8. Villages: don't empty one of its people, don't destroy it and don't take over its buildings; other players need them.
  9. Pranks are tolerated if they stay good-natured, reversible and break nothing. If the target complains, it's over, and the prank may be sanctioned.

6. No PvP

  1. PvP is forbidden, whatever the situation: no attacking a player, directly or by a roundabout way (traps, lava, TNT, lured monsters, caused falls, thrown potions).
  2. Don't kill or steal another player's tamed animals or livestock.

7. Redstone, farms and performance

  1. Farms and machines must stay reasonable. Every automatic farm has a switch so it can be stopped.
  2. No giant animal farms, permanent redstone clocks or dozens of packed entities: they are what slows the server down for everyone.
  3. When the server lags, the staff may turn off or remove a machine without notice.
  4. Lagging the server on purpose (lag machine, abusive chunk loading) is sabotage: immediate ban.

8. Progression and events

  1. The End and the dragon are a community event: the fight is staged for every player present. Going ahead alone to kill the dragon or keeping the End to yourself is sanctioned by a ban.
  2. Structure loot: each player has their own contents in structure chests. Don't destroy a structure, its chests or its spawners to deprive others.
  3. The Domain is discovered on site: don't reveal in public chat how to open the way in or get through the trials.
  4. During an event (Halloween…), follow the staff's instructions; anything built or won outside its rules may be removed.

9. The shop

  1. The shop only sells ranks and cosmetics (pets, hats, accessories): no gameplay advantage. Purchases are governed by the terms of sale.
  2. Selling or buying for real money (or gifts, gift cards…) items, in-game services or an account is forbidden.
  3. Purchased content is personal: it can't be resold or transferred. It can be removed in case of a ban, fraud or abusive payment dispute.

10. Reporting a problem

  1. A message: in the messenger, open its menu and choose Report this message, with a reason (harassment, spam, inappropriate content…). Moderation reviews the message and the ones around it.
  2. A Feed photo or a profile: Report button.
  3. Griefing, a bug, a problem with a player: write to the staff on the Discord, privately, with screenshots and coordinates if possible.
  4. A report must be sincere: false reports and mass reports are sanctioned.

11. Staff and sanctions

  1. Only the staff makes moderation decisions. Their instructions apply immediately, even if you disagree.
  2. To dispute one, stay calm and use the Discord privately, never in public or in game.
  3. The staff fits the sanction to the seriousness, the context and repeat offenses:
LevelExamplesUsual sanction
MinorSpam, inappropriate language, a prank gone too far, a small unsuitable buildWarning, temporary mute, content removed
ModerateMinor griefing, exploiting a bug, a farm that lags the server, advertisingExclusion from 1 to 7 days, repairs, removal of what was gained
SeriousCheating, an added mod, harassment, PvP, theft or griefing, personal information, multiple accounts, sabotage, rushing the EndBan for the current season, which can be extended to the following seasons
  1. Review of a sanction: write to contact@bs-studio.fr with your username, in case of an obvious mistake, an account used by someone else, an unjustified technical block or new evidence. A person other than the author of the decision reviews it when the team allows, with an answer within 30 days as a guide.
  2. A staff member who commits a serious fault is excluded, and their decisions may be reviewed.
